Marine 7 Boat Patrol
Marine 7 duties are to enforce state boating laws, local county ordinances and promote safe boating practices.
They also provide general assistance to the boating public through accident reporting, safeguard citizens, assist distressed boaters and swimmers, provide cold water immersion education, conduct watercraft traffic control, and complete rescue operations for victims of boating accidents.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office maintains two boats for our local lakes, Lake Tahoe and Topaz Lake. The boat that operates at Lake Tahoe is a Titan 280 RHIB. Outfitted with radar, sonar, and thermal imaging it also holds the capability of handling waves that are routinely seen on the lake during the summer boating season.
