District Attorney Mark Jackson And Sheriff Dan Coverley Announce The Arrest Of Suspect Charged With Embezzling From Local School Groups
MINDEN, Nev. (Sept. 8, 2026)––On Sept. 4, 2026, the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint charging Erinn Miller, 46, with two felony counts of embezzlement. Investigators with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office subsequently arrested Miller on Sept. 8, 2026 pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by Senior Judge Steven McMorris. The complaint is filed in the Tahoe Township Justice Court. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only.
The issuance of the arrest warrant was based on an affidavit incorporating investigative reports detailing the culmination of a months-long investigation by the Sheriff’s Office regarding Miller’s financial activities while she was a treasurer for parent booster clubs for Zephyr Cove Elementary School and George Whittell High School.
According to the affidavit in support of the arrest warrant, the alleged criminal activities began in July 2020 and continued through November 2025. The complaint charges Miller with embezzling over $100,000 from the Zephyr Cove Elementary School Parents Club and over $25,000 from the George Whittell High School Booster Club.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
