Burgers for Badges Hosted by RE/MAX Realty Affiliates and Mason-McDuffie Mortgage to Benefit Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council

MINDEN, Nev. (June 24, 2026) – RE/MAX Realty Affiliates, in partnership with Mason-McDuffie Mortgage, Kim Marcarelli and team, hosts the 9th annual Burgers for Badges to benefit the Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Park, 1447 Courthouse Alley, in Gardnerville, Nevada. This FREE, family-friendly event brings the community together to honor and celebrate local law enforcement, enjoy a complimentary meal, and help raise valuable funds for extraordinary expenses for education and training for personnel, technological resources and other supplemental equipment. All funds raised support the non-profit.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to gather in appreciation of our law enforcement, enjoy a free meal, and help raise needed funds in support of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council,” said Dale Armstrong, Broker Salesperson for RE/MAX Realty Affiliates. “It’s a great way to meet with sheriff’s personnel outside the day-to-day encounters often experienced while they’re on the job.”

The DCSAC was formed in May 2004 by concerned community members wanting to help. The DCSAC has grown and today consists of community volunteers including business and community leaders, professionals, and former first responders. Through corporate and private donations, funds support the ongoing need for technology, equipment, training and professional development programs that are not included in the Sheriff’s or Douglas County’s general budget.

“Events like Burgers for Badges remind us how strong the partnership is between our office and the community we serve,” said Sheriff Dan Coverley. “We’re incredibly thankful for the support and for the chance to spend time with families outside of our day-to-day responsibilities.”

Added Armstrong, “Our entire goal is to bring the community together to meet the men and women of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and have a meaningful connection.”

The event will have burgers and hotdogs thanks to Minden Meat & Deli, live music by Moxy Ruckus, a bounce house, CV Flyte's drink trailer, Sierra Sprinkle's mobile ice cream parlor, Sheriff’s Office equipment on display and more.
