Sheriff Coverley

Sheriff Daniel Coverley has been a member of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office since 1997. He was elected to office in 2019. Prior to his career with Douglas County, Sheriff Coverley worked for the Albuquerque Police Department. Sheriff Coverley has worked in a wide variety of assignments during his career, which include specialized assignments as a motor officer and a member of the SWAT team. Sheriff Coverley has worked in jail, investigations and Patrol Divisions as an officer and a Sergeant. 

Sheriff Coverley graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Criminology. Sheriff Coverley and his wife Sarah both grew up in Douglas County and graduated from Douglas High School. Sheriff Coverley and Sarah live in Carson Valley and enjoy raising their three daughters. Sheriff Coverley is also involved in local youth sports coaching his daughter's club soccer teams.
